Zerocap Shines at Blockies & Australian Crypto Convention
This past weekend marked a significant milestone for Zerocap as we participated in two of Australia’s premier crypto events: the prestigious Blockies Awards and the Australian Crypto Convention (Aus Crypto Con) in Sydney. The weekend was a celebration of innovation, collaboration, and the achievements of Australia’s thriving blockchain and digital economy communities. Here’s a closer look at Zerocap’s involvement in these remarkable events.
Recognition at the Blockies Awards
Zerocap’s ongoing commitment to the Australian blockchain space was on full display at this year’s Blockies Awards. As a proud sponsor of the Organisation of the Year award at the Digital Economy Awards (DECA), Zerocap continued its tradition of recognizing excellence in the industry. Having won the award ourselves in the previous two years (read more), we were thrilled to pass the torch to Independent Reserve, whose contributions to the ecosystem are truly commendable and want to congratulate all of the great finalists.
Our CEO, Ryan McCall, played an integral role in the event as a judge. Ryan evaluated an impressive lineup of individuals and organizations that are driving Australia’s blockchain innovation, ranging from pioneering blockchain technologies to transformative companies. Although Ryan was unable to attend in person, Zerocap’s Pras Indrakumar stepped in to present the award.
The Blockies Awards served as a testament to the collaborative and innovative spirit of Australia’s digital economy. A big thank you goes out to Amy Rose, Alek Sutherland, and Greg Oakford for orchestrating such a memorable event.
Zerocap Takes Center Stage at Aus Crypto Con
Meanwhile, at the Australian Crypto Convention, Zerocap was at the forefront of conversations shaping the future of digital assets. Held over the same weekend, Aus Crypto Con brought together developers, investors, industry leaders, and crypto enthusiasts from across the country.
One of the event’s standout moments was the panel discussion on “Beyond Bitcoin: The 2030 Tech Stack,” featuring Zerocap’s Mark Hiriart, Head of Sales. Joining Mark on the panel were influential figures such as Leigh Travers (Animoca Brands), Fred Schebesta (Finder), Egor Sidelska (Infinex), and Bridget Nichols (Monochrome).
The session explored a forward-looking vision of blockchain’s evolution beyond Bitcoin, touching on topics like the potential of next-gen blockchain technologies, advancements in decentralized finance, and the emergence of Web3 ecosystems. The discussion left attendees inspired by the innovative pathways the industry could take as we approach 2030.
Engaging the Community Through Competitions
To enhance the excitement of Aus Crypto Con, Zerocap ran a special competition offering attendees a chance to win $1,000 AUD in Bitcoin.
In addition to the BTC giveaway, exclusive Zerocap merchandise was up for grabs, drawing crowds to our booth throughout the convention. This interactive initiative not only sparked engagement but also underscored Zerocap’s dedication to creating value for the community.
*To accept the prize the winning participant needed to complete their Know Your Customer (KYC) process with Zerocap, reflecting our commitment to security and compliance in digital asset transactions.
Building Connections in the Crypto Ecosystem
Beyond the panels and giveaways, the weekend was a golden opportunity for Zerocap to strengthen relationships within the crypto community. From reconnecting with long-time partners to forming new alliances, our team was inspired by the wealth of talent and passion shared by everyone we met.
We also appreciated the incredible turnout at our booth, where attendees participated in the competition, explored our offerings, and shared their own insights about the evolving blockchain landscape. These connections are at the heart of what drives innovation in our industry, and we’re grateful to have played a part in fostering them.
Reflecting on an Inspiring Weekend
The Blockies Awards and Aus Crypto Con highlighted the vibrancy and potential of Australia’s blockchain ecosystem. For Zerocap, the weekend was a powerful reminder of the critical role collaboration and innovation play in driving the digital asset revolution.
As a company committed to delivering liquidity solutions, trading services, and market-making capabilities for institutional clients, we’re excited to continue contributing to the growth and success of the industry. These events showcased not only the milestones we’ve achieved together but also the incredible possibilities on the horizon.
We extend our gratitude to the organizers of both events for creating platforms that celebrate the best of blockchain innovation.
Stay tuned for more updates as Zerocap continues to support the evolution of the digital economy, one groundbreaking step at a time.
